After reading the article, I am surprised that many people are still choosing to travel despite the economic downturn. To many people, travel has become an essential part of their lifestyle. Hence, recession or not, it is not going to affect their plans. For some, it would only mean looking at regional destinations.
Personally, for myself, I still get quite excited at the thought of planning my travel. Travelling to me is a way of relieving myself of all the stress at work and taking the well-deserved holiday is a form of reward for myself. I also take the opportunity to do some self-reflection of things that are happening in life and to slow down a little bit.
Like many people, I also look out for good deals in terms of airfare and accommodation. I think, with some careful planning, it is possible to have a good holiday without burning a hole in the pocket.
